Soviet Union collapse 'affected region's wildlife'

Research suggests that the socioeconomic shocks following the collapse of the Soviet Union also affected the region's wildlife.

An international group of authors from Russia, Germany and the USA have published a paper to this effect in the journal Conservation Biology.
